  • In Remembrance of Jonathan Kristiansen:  We extend our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Jonathan Kristiansen. Jonathan was a Junior from Ligonier Valley High School and was enrolled in EWCTC's Health Occupations Technology program. While we mourn the loss of one of our own, we recognize this tragedy will have a profound impact on our student body and will assist any students in need of additional guidance.

  • SKILLS USA: SkillsUSA students attended the Leadership Conference at Seven Springs on November 2nd through 4th.  The participants learned leadership skills, basic first aid and CPR, and etiquette.  Graphic Communications student Charlie McNerney (Derry Area) won first place in the t-shirt design contest.  Our teams won first and second place in the team building contests.

  • EWCTC Places 2nd in National Video Contest: Congratulations to Ashley Patrick, Corey Milyak, Maddie Horrell, and Lee Walls for placing 2nd in the national ACTE PSA Video Contest! The prize package includes a $250 award and publication of the video through various media outlets. Watch the video here.

  • Comcast's Internet Essentials Program: This is a program designed to meet the needs of families that are elligible for free and reduced lunch. It is planned to be in place for the 2011-12 school year. Please refer to the Comcast web site for more details

Welcome!

Welcome to Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center. We are truly the start of something great with our vocational and technology programs integrating academics into the classroom. Students at EWCTC have the opportunity to learn state of the art technology, trade skills, and employability skills. EWCTC offers 16 programs, computer labs, English classes, and math remediation classes. Students can obtain nationally recognized certifications in a variety of programs.
 

The placement rate of 2010 graduating seniors is high, with 94% going directly to work, post-secondary education and/or the military. To visit and tour Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center contact Heather Kaecher, 724-539-9788.
