  • Cyberbully Hotline – We now have ananonymous bullying reporting system. Students can call or text 724-302-0042 to report incidents of bullyingor other incidents of concern.

  • Certificate of Achievement – EWCTC received a Certificate of Achievement from the Pennsylvania Department of Education Bureau of Career and Technical Education. The students exceeded the expected PDE increase in levels of performance in reading, mathematics and occupation skills.

     

    Cisco Recognition – EWCTC is honored to receive a plaque in recognition of ten years of active participation in the Cisco Networking Academy.

  • SKILLS USA: SkillsUSA students attended District Competitions Monday, January 14th.   Zac Slezak (Advertising and Design) and Halie Plows (Photography) took home first place!  They will advance to State Competitions in Hershey later this year! Luke McDowell (Masonry) placed second and Jeff Sokira (Technical Computer Applications) placed third.  Congratulations to all contenders!

  • Parents of 9th grade students:   Your son or daughter will be touring the Eastern Westmoreland Career & Technology Center during one of the dates below.  Parents are welcome to join their child to tour the programs and learn more about career opportunities at the school.  Please plan to arrive at the CTC at 9:00 am.  For more information, call (724)539-9788.  Ligonier Tour Date:  Thursday, 1/24.  Latrobe Tour Dates: Tuesday, 1/29; Wednesday, 1/30; and Thursday, 1/31.  Derry Tour Dates: Wednesday, 2/6 and Thursday, 2/7.

Welcome to Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center. We are truly the start of something great with our vocational and technology programs integrating academics into the classroom. Students at EWCTC have the opportunity to learn state of the art technology, trade skills, and employability skills. EWCTC offers 16 programs, computer labs, English classes, and math remediation classes. Students can obtain nationally recognized certifications in a variety of programs.
 

The placement rate of 2010 graduating seniors is high, with 94% going directly to work, post-secondary education and/or the military. To visit and tour Eastern Westmoreland Career and Technology Center contact Heather Kaecher, 724-539-9788.
