PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Plumbing program is designed to prepare students for careers in the plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industries. Throughout the program, students learn the basics of blueprint reading, layout and assembling, installing, altering and repairing of piping and plumbing fixtures. Design and installation of plumbing systems for both residential and commercial buildings are emphasized. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded the Pennsylvania Home Builders Association Certificate.
**Students enrolled in this program rotate through the four construction cluster programs.PROFILE OF SUCCESSFUL STUDENTS
Students should be skilled in advanced math, have good reading and interpretation skills, and the ability to work at varying heights. Good hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift heavy objects are important in this industry.
