About Our School
Eastern Westmoreland CTC is a part-time career and technology center located in Latrobe, PA. EWCTC serves an average of five hundred students from Derry Area, Greater Latrobe, and Ligonier Valley High Schools each year. The school offers fifteen programs in six career pathways: Arts & Communications, Automotive, Construction, Engineering & Manufacturing, Health & Human Services, and Information Technology.
Learners who attend EWCTC combine academic theory with practical application to master industry skills. Our focus is to provide a well-rounded education that transfers easily to employment and/or postsecondary education. For those who choose to immediately enter the workforce, our state-of-the-art equipment and a close connection to local businesses give our learners an advantage over other high school students. Learners also earn industry-recognized certifications in each program. For those who choose to further their educations, our learners earn articulated credit that is recognized by multiple postsecondary institutions. That means they are able to skip college classes, which saves both time and money!
In addition to receiving quality academics and technical skills training, our curriculum focuses on the “soft skills” necessary for success in life. Our instructors and staff have the unique opportunity to be able to spend three years with our learners. We pride ourselves on encouraging responsibility, work ethic, problem-solving, and community involvement during their formative years. Our learners build professional and personal relationships that last a lifetime and help them become successful employees and business owners in our area. Our learners leave EWCTC prepared for the future!
